Interim Asset Manager

Confidential Client

Acre is partnering with a fast-growing low-carbon energy business to appoint an Interim Asset Manager for a focused 3-4 month engagement.

This is an opportunity to join a growing district heating business as it continues its transition from contractor to long-term asset owner. The role will sit within the Asset Management function and report directly to the Assets & Utilities Director.

The successful candidate will take ownership of three priority workstreams, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, contract management and asset performance.

Key areas of responsibility:

O&M Agreements

  • Review the status of O&M agreements across the asset portfolio
  • Identify agreements requiring finalisation, renewal or implementation
  • Work with O&M teams to finalise terms and coordinate internal sign-off
  • Establish and maintain a clear tracker of O&M KPIs, risks and gaps

Return Temperature & ASHP Commissioning

  • Work with O&M and site teams to identify the causes of elevated network return temperatures
  • Coordinate remedial actions to bring temperatures within the required range for ASHP commissioning
  • Track performance and commissioning milestones
  • Turn complex operational data into simple, actionable reporting
  • Escalate contractual or commercial barriers where required

Contractual Notices

  • Draft and issue contractual notices across heat supply, O&M and customer connection agreements
  • Maintain a clear log of deadlines, obligations and notice statuses
  • Liaise with investment, legal and commercial colleagues as required

What we're looking for:

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in asset management or contract management within energy infrastructure, district heating or utilities.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience implementing or administering O&M agreements for energy or infrastructure assets
  • A practical understanding of district heating network operations and return-temperature performance
  • Experience drafting or administering formal contractual notices
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams against tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence working across contractors, operational, legal and commercial stakeholders
