We're looking for a Project Engineering Manager with technical knowledge of: Solar PV and energy storage systems; Medium-voltage electrical infrastructure; Grid interconnection and project performance considerations; Civil and site development fundamentals; Utility-scale project design and execution requirements; and GIS, energy storage modeling, or power system analysis software experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering activities for utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects through development, acquisition, and pre-construction phases.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across development, commercial, procurement, construction, and operations functions to support project progression and investment decisions.
- Provide technical oversight of project designs, layouts, equipment selections, and engineering deliverables.
- Support technology evaluation, system sizing, and optimization activities for renewable generation and energy storage assets.
- Review technical studies, project documentation, and engineering assumptions to assess project feasibility, performance, and risk.
- Contribute to contractor selection processes, technical bid evaluations, and engineering support during procurement activities.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks that may affect project cost, schedule, performance, financing, or execution.
- Manage external engineering consultants and ensure the delivery of high-quality technical work products.
- Support due diligence activities associated with project acquisitions, financing processes, and major investment decisions.
- Present technical findings, project risks, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Support the development of engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across the project portfolio.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Energy, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including at least five years supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Demonstrated experience supporting utility-scale solar PV projects is required.
- Experience with standalone or hybrid battery energy storage projects is strongly preferred.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering workstreams during project development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering document review tools such as AutoCAD.
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project, vendor, and team-related activities.
