Acre is partnered with a leading North American forest-products and timberland business to appoint a Senior Manager, Carbon Sales & Marketing.
This is a high-impact commercial role within a growing Climate Solutions platform. The successful candidate will help commercialize a high-integrity forest-carbon portfolio, build long-term buyer and partner relationships, and convert market demand into completed carbon-credit transactions.
The role offers the opportunity to help build a scalable commercial engine for a major landowner with a substantial forest footprint, established forestry expertise and ambitious growth plans in natural climate solutions.
The role
The Senior Manager, Carbon Sales & Marketing will lead execution of the carbon portfolio sales plan, taking responsibility for buyer engagement, pipeline management, transaction coordination and sales forecasting.
This is not a purely strategic or technical carbon role. It requires a commercially rigorous, relationship-led professional who can engage credibly with sophisticated corporate buyers, intermediaries, procurement partners and other stakeholders across the voluntary carbon market.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Execute sales-generation activity in line with the carbon commercialization strategy and revenue objectives.
- Identify, qualify and develop relationships with prospective corporate buyers, intermediaries, advisors and strategic partners.
- Progress opportunities from initial engagement through buyer diligence, commercial negotiation, internal approval and transaction completion.
- Own sales-pipeline management, including lead qualification, account planning, deal prioritization, forecasting and regular reporting on conversion and revenue performance.
- Coordinate transaction execution, including term sheets, RFP responses, buyer diligence, contracting inputs, milestones and cross-functional approvals.
- Maintain oversight of credit availability, portfolio demand, pricing scenarios and revenue expectations.
- Represent the forest-carbon portfolio at selected customer meetings, industry events and market forums.
- Bring market intelligence into the business, identifying buyer needs, pricing signals, competitive developments and opportunities to improve the commercial process.
- Work closely with internal colleagues across carbon project development, forestry, legal, finance, marketing and strategic land solutions.
About you
You will be a commercially minded carbon, environmental commodities, renewable energy or climate-solutions professional with a demonstrable record of managing complex sales processes and building senior external relationships.
Direct experience selling voluntary carbon credits, particularly forest carbon, nature-based solutions or other high-integrity carbon products, will be highly relevant. However, the organization is also open to candidates from adjacent environmental commodity markets, including EACs, RECs, renewable-energy procurement and other environmental commodities, provided they can demonstrate strong enterprise sales discipline and a credible understanding of carbon-market dynamics.
You will bring:
- 8+ years of relevant commercial, sales, business-development or account-management experience.
- A record of executing commercial plans, developing buyer pipelines and delivering revenue-focused outcomes.
- Experience owning complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes from prospecting through contracting and close.
- Strong commercial judgement across pipeline health, sales forecasting, pricing scenarios, portfolio availability and revenue expectations.
- The ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with corporates, procurement teams, intermediaries, advisors and other market participants.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex carbon-market and portfolio information clearly.
- Confidence working across legal, finance, technical and operational stakeholders to progress transactions.
- Advanced Excel capability; experience using Power BI or comparable analytics and reporting tools is preferred.
- Experience in voluntary carbon markets, environmental commodities, sustainability, renewable energy or a related commercial market.
- A thoughtful, credible and values-led approach to representing a major landowner in an increasingly scrutinised carbon market.
Location and travel
This role is remote within the United States.
The successful candidate should be comfortable traveling up to 50% for customer meetings, conferences, internal collaboration and other market-facing activity.
