BD / Origination - New Fund

Confidential Client

Are you a private-markets professional who enjoys turning investor conversations into well-managed fundraising opportunities?

Acre is partnering with a private markets investment firm specialising in sustainable real assets to appoint a Vice President, Business Development / Capital Formation. This newly created, London-based role will support the growth of the firm’s natural capital strategies and help develop its in-house capital formation capability.

The firm invests across natural capital, including forestry and regenerative agriculture, with a focus on delivering financial returns alongside measurable environmental outcomes. As its platform and proprietary fund offering develop, it is seeking a commercially minded, highly organised professional to strengthen investor engagement and fundraising execution.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Co-Founder, you will work closely with senior colleagues across investment, investor relations and marketing to support an international fundraising programme.

This is not a role that requires you to arrive with an extensive investor network or independently lead capital raising from day one. Instead, you will bring the judgement, initiative and attention to detail needed to keep investor engagement moving, from identifying prospects and preparing meetings to coordinating due diligence and ensuring thoughtful follow-up.

You will gain exposure to institutional investors, pension funds, family offices, endowments and consultants across international markets, with the opportunity to take on broader capital formation responsibilities as the function grows.

What you will do

  • Research, identify and qualify prospective investors across priority markets.

  • Manage investor pipelines, maintaining accurate records and clear next steps.

  • Prepare meeting briefs, investor research and tailored presentations for senior colleagues.

  • Coordinate timely, professional follow-up after investor meetings, introductions and events.

  • Support the preparation of pitchbooks, investor updates, due diligence questionnaires and requests for proposals.

  • Coordinate investor information requests across investment, finance, legal, operations and marketing.

  • Work with placement agents and other external advisers to manage information flow, meetings and follow-up.

  • Help deliver investor events, including AGMs, dinners, roundtables, conferences and roadshows.

  • Produce pipeline and activity reports, helping build consistent processes across the capital formation function.

What you will bring

You may currently work in investor relations, capital formation, fundraising, business development, institutional client service or sales support. What matters most is your experience supporting investor-facing activity and your willingness to take ownership of the work behind a successful fundraise.

You will bring:

  • Approximately five to eight years of relevant experience within private markets, investment management or a related financial services environment.

  • Exposure to private markets or alternative investment strategies, such as real assets, infrastructure, real estate or natural capital.

  • An understanding of private-fund fundraising, including prospect research, pipeline management, investor materials and due diligence.

  • Strong project-management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

  • Clear, polished written communication and confidence engaging with different investor audiences.

  • Commercial judgement, interpersonal awareness and reliable follow-through.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial team.

Experience in natural capital, forestry, regenerative agriculture or climate-related investment would be valuable, but is not essential. Additional European or Arabic-language skills would also be beneficial.

Why consider this role?

This is an opportunity to help shape a growing capital formation function while working closely with senior leadership and an international investor base.

You will combine hands-on fundraising delivery with exposure to natural capital investment strategies, developing your understanding of the platform and building towards broader investor coverage over time.

The role is based in London, with international travel for investor meetings, events and fundraising activity.
